History
The two founders of Juridica, Richard Fields and Tim Scrantom, have long and distinguished careers in private law practice. They both have developed and pursued entrepreneurial innovations in the multi-billion dollar litigation space where the needs and requirements of law and finance meet.
Mr. Fields is a large-firm plaintiff’s lawyer who was a pioneer and innovator in bringing financial tools and thinking to corporate litigation to settle some of the largest cases in history. He has extensive experience in representing Fortune 100 companies as plaintiffs. Mr. Scrantom is an American lawyer and an English barrister who left large law firm practice in the US and London to concentrate on innovation in the international financial services industry and dispute resolution strategy. Both Mr. Fields and Mr. Scrantom have been successful entrepreneurs in the law industry: Mr. Fields started a successful London-based company to trade insurance claims between global insurers and Fortune 500 companies and, independently, Mr. Scrantom began an asset-based lending company and a London-based on-line due diligence facility for major financial institutions.
With the help of leading experts in law, economics, finance, and professional ethics, the Juridica business model was conceived and developed to apply investment banking disciplines and approaches to the management of law risk and law capital.
The result is the Juridica group of companies, which launched in December 2007.
